Arijit Singh (born 25 April 1987) is an Indian playback singer, predominantly singing Hindi and Bengali songs. Arijit is regarded as one of the most versatile and highly successful singer in the History of Indian Music. Arijit`s voice is cited as Mellifluous,Soulful and Melodious He is praised for his ability of giving soul to lyrics, and "life to a song". He is known for being shy and emotional and often stays away from limelight despite huge fame and popularity that he enjoys in South Asia and amongst South Asian diaspora worldwide.He is one of the most admired and valued live performers across the world.He is cited as a perfect mix of Romantic,Soulful singer and a Rockstar. Born in Jiaganj, Murshidabad, West Bengal, his career began upon participating in the reality show Fame Gurukul (2005), in which he lost in the finals. After winning another reality show called 10 Ke 10 Le Gaye Dil, Singh built a recording setup of his own, beginning his journey with music programming. Subsequently, he went in to become an assistant music programmer to Pritam Chakraborty, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Vishal-Shekhar and Mithoon.
Singh became well-known with the release of "Tum Hi Ho" from Aashiqui 2 (2013). He was awarded the prestigious Best Male Playback Singer award for the song, in 59th Filmfare Awards. Arijit had won IBN Live Movie Award for the song "Muskurane Ki Wajah Tum Ho" in the category of "Best Playback Singer". Arijit was awarded best Best Male Playback Singer award for the song Sooraj Dooba Hain, in 61st Filmfare Awards in the year 2016 In 2017, at the 62nd Filmfare Awards, Arijit Singh won the "Best Playback Singer (Male) Award" for the title song of the film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Arijit won the "Male Vocalist of the Year 2017 at the "Mirchi Music Awards for his rendition of "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil". He was honoured as the "Best Male Playback Singer" for the title track "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" at the "Zee Cine Awards 2017"
